PhosgenationPressure Chemical Company is expert in the safe and effective use of phosgene for reactions to yield chloroformates, acid chlorides, carbonates, and isocyanates. Our facility is well suited to help with all aspects of your phosgenation reaction - research, process development, and commercial scale manufacturing (reactors capable of phosgene use are available in sizes ranging from 1-L to 1000-gal). Phosgene is an extremely hazardous reagent and Pressure Chemical Company maintains procedures, safe work practices, monitoring devices, and scrubbing systems specific to phosgene management and use. With appropriate phosgene-handling equipment and expertise already in place, we can respond quickly to your phosgenation need. Our scientists and engineers have decades of experience in a wide variety of processes and are ready to lend this experience to your phosgene experiment to improve process safety, yield, purity, and/or cycle time. Some examples of our phosgenation capabilities include
Triphosgene In addition to our basic phosgene capability, Pressure Chemical Company has developed considerable expertise in the use of triphosgene as a replacement reagent. Triphosgene is a relatively stable, crystalline solid that can be less expensive than purchased phosgene. Though triphosgene is a hazardous chemical (toxic and corrosive), it can be easier to manage than cylinder phosgene and offers some basic handling advantages. In a number of processes, we have been able to optimize ...
